Herpes type 1 (HSV-1, or oral herpes): causes sores around
the mouth and lips,genital herpes(sometimes called fever blisters or cold

DIAGNOSIS

Lab test (virus culture)
TREATMENT
Medications:
acyclovir,famciclovir,valaciclovir (can be in oral form or applied as cream)
PREVENTION
·
avoid direct physical contact with infected people.
·
Do not share any items that can pass the virus
around,
·
infected people should avoid oral sex, kissing, or any other type of
sexual activity, during an outbreak
